Tularosa Schools would like to inform all parents and community members that earlier today, TES, TIS, & TMS were placed in a brief shelter-in-place as part of our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety. The shelter-in-place was implemented in response to a potential security concern that was brought to our attention. As per our established safety protocols, the school's administration and law enforcement worked swiftly to ensure the situation was thoroughly assessed and addressed. We are happy to report that the situation has been resolved and that everyone is safe. We want to assure all parents and community members that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Our staff followed the appropriate procedures and protocols, and the shelter-in-place was carried out smoothly and efficiently. We are proud of our school's preparedness and response to ensure the safety and security of all individuals on our campus. We would like to express our appreciation to law enforcement for their swift response and support during this incident. We also want to commend our students, teachers, and staff for their cooperation and adherence to the shelter-in-place protocols. As always, we encourage parents and community members to remain vigilant and report any potential safety concerns to the school administration or local law enforcement. We remain committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support.

We had such a wonderful day at TES! Several members of Christ Community Church took time out of their day to make breakfast for our amazing teachers and staff members. The burritos were delicious! Thank you for making us feel so special. Your thoughtfulness really made our day!

The Career Fair on February 24th, was the first of its kind at Tularosa High School, with over 72 presenters and more than 32 local and regional businesses represented on our campus. More than 269 high school students were able to select the career topics of their choice for 11 different 15 minute presentation sessions from 8am - 12pm that day to ensure it was the most individualized and appropriate use of their time in the exploration of career opportunities in our area. This event would not have been possible without the team work, supervision and assistance of our 37 high school staff members who provided support for all presenters that day as well. We greatly appreciate Ms. Bernino's ProStart students for creating a wonderful hospitality experience for all our presenters, Mr. Baker for creating plaques for each of our presenters using the school’s new GlowForge, and Ms. Bussiere's Yearbook students for capturing wonderful images from this event. The Career Fair will most certainly be an annual event at Tularosa High School, which we are already planning to expand next year due to the overwhelming demand from local & regional businesses who would like to participate. If your business would like to participate with TMS in the future, please reach out to our Director of Career & Technical Education via email shara.montoya@tularosak12.us or call 575-740-2434. Thank you again to all our business partners for making this Career Fair a huge success for our students!
