Students from our schools joined dancers streaming in from the southwest corner, filling Tingley Coliseum with vibrant regalia and a powerful chorus of chants, drums, and clanging bells.
Their participation marked the “Last Dance” of the Gathering of Nations Powwow—the largest powwow in North America—which concluded Saturday evening in Albuquerque after a 43-year run, giving our students a meaningful opportunity to be part of a historic and cultural tradition.
