Parents/Guardians - Earlier today, a Tularosa Intermediate Schools student was found in possession of a weapon on campus. School staff and administration acted immediately to ensure the safety of all students and staff. The building was promptly secured, and the weapon was identified as an airsoft gun. The airsoft gun was safely removed from the student’s possession.
Local law enforcement was contacted and responded quickly to assist with the situation. After authorities confirmed there was no ongoing threat, normal school operations resumed.
Tularosa Municipal Schools would like to assure parents, guardians, and the community that all students and staff are safe. The district takes all safety matters very seriously and remains committed to maintaining a secure learning environment.

STARBASE Holloman Day One was a resounding success!! Tularosa fifth graders had a blast laughing, learning and making memories as they participated in the dynamics of fluid mechanics, measuring boxes to take fudgsicles into space, measuring densities in different liquids, and even getting a carbon dioxide demonstration (don’t worry, we stayed incredibly safe!).
Today has been a long time coming and we are so grateful for all of your continued support.
